Cedar is currently partnered with a successful, growing Construction business to support with the recruitment of an Interim Finance Director based in Sheffield, Yorkshire. This is a 12-month contract role, offering £90k - £100k + benefits.

The Role

Reporting directly to the Managing Director, your duties as Interim Finance Director will include:

• Ensure the Finance team is adequately staffed and effectively managed, with clear job responsibilities and robust support in communication, training, and development.
• Participate in feasibility modeling and assist in developing continuous growth plans through financial forecasting and planning.
• Perform accurate and comprehensive forecasting and planning in accordance with regional requirements.
• Identify and address issues that significantly impact the Division.
• Oversee all financial management and reporting tasks.
• Ensure adherence to the Group Accounts Manual for cash management practices.
• Supervise payment processing to ensure accuracy and timeliness using Group systems.
• Lead business continuity planning and disaster recovery initiatives.

Your Profile

You will ideally have:

• A formal accountancy qualification (e.g. ACA/CIMA/CA).
• Considerable post-qualification experience in a senior commercial accounting role.
• Construction industry experience, ideally within housebuilding.
• Strong numerical skills with expertise in IT and financial analysis, along with the ability to interpret data and evaluate its impact on the business.
• Proven experience in budget management, cost control, and organizing work to meet targets.
• Demonstrated self-confidence, decisiveness, resilience, and the ability to perform well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Effective team leader with a focus on managing, coaching, and developing team members to reach their full potential.
• The salary of £90,000 - £100,000 per year represents a fair value, or logical increase on your previous salary or day rate.
• Availability to start immediately or at short notice.
