Are you a Financial Accountant working in an accountancy practice, looking for your first step into industry?
Or maybe you're at a crossroads in your career and want to take on a fixed-term role while you decide what's next?

Whatever your circumstances, this is a fantastic opportunity to work in a close-knit , supportive and collaborative team in a well-known business that will look impressive on your CV!

This is a 12-month fixed term contract covering maternity leave with a full handover in your first few months. You will work in an experienced Group Finance team of 6. The team deals with the preparation and analysis of the Group's quarterly and annual financial results. As well as with Capex reporting, tax, treasury, audit and other group projects. This team is part of a wider finance and procurement team of over 50 people.

In the words of the Group Accountant, who has been with the company for 16 years "We are not just a team, we are a little family". Many of the team have been with the company for a number of years. Staff turnover is low, which says it all!

Ideally, you're ACA/ACCA qualified and have a clear understanding of current accounting/technical issues including IFRS.

You will have a wide range of experience in producing monthly management accounts, including full ownership of the balance sheets and support the corporation tax process which will include data preparation. You are confident in producing reports and financial statements for all the companies within the Group, under IFRS and UK GAAP, which you will then present both internally and externally.

You'll ideally have some mentoring / support experience, as in this role you will have the opportunity to manage their Accounts Assistant who joined the business earlier this year.

You have a sound "hands on" approach and confidence in your work, which means you are more than happy to share ideas and provide solutions to any accounting issues that you may come across individually or as a team. You'll be confident liaising with stakeholders at all levels and business partnering with non-finance staff.

You'll work 35 hour weeks with flexibility to start and finish at times that suit you. Once you have received your handover and training, you'll also be offered hybrid working opportunities.
