The role

As a Planning & Reporting Analyst you will support the management of the Society’s product ranges through focused analysis and reporting of data, providing key insights to the business to enable decision making. You will also provide support to data driven projects and drive automation of reports.

This will include, but not limited to the likes of overall trading performance, mortgage pipeline reporting, Current Account balance behaviour, Savings pipeline reporting, Insurance trading performance, and other items as agreed with Head of Products.

Main responsibilities include:
  • Act as a ‘product advocate’ within the business, collaborating with other departments and our branch network to promote the features and benefits of the Society’s products.
  • Processing data into easy to understand, insightful information for the team and wider stakeholders to drive actions.
  • Gathering reporting requirements and working with Product Managers and Head of Products to prioritise.
  • Gathering and analysing data, using, but not limited to advanced excel and PowerBI skills.
  • Develop, deliver, and maintain standard reporting templates and dashboards showing agreed metrics that support business decision making and tailored in level of detail for differing stakeholder groups (inc 3rd Parties, where agreed).
  • Perform adhoc analysis as necessary to answer business questions and drive decisions.
  • Ensuring data quality and reliability, providing feedback to business owner, and working closely with other data teams within the business to understand source data systems.
  • Support of the Societies planning and budget forecasting cycle.
  • To understand and be aware of the risk and control environment in your area of the business and adhere to processes and procedures to minimise risks.

About you
  • Advanced Excel & PowerBI skills essential.
  • Experience in other data analysis tools and techniques desired, but not essential.
  • Experience in financial services product areas desired, ideally within mortgages, savings and/or current accounts.
  • Knowledge of financial environment with excellent analytical skills - highly numerate.
  • General knowledge of business operations, objectives, strategies, process, and information flow desirable.
  • Ability to collect, analyse, interpret, and present data.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage time and prioritise workloads to meet deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively relate data to other colleagues.
  • Tendency to pay close attention to small details that could impact results.
  • Challenging constructively with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Ability to think and reason logically, and to communicate complex issues simply.
  • Results driven individual with a track record of working on own initiative.
  • Organised and able to prioritise to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Customer focused, with an ability to understand customer needs.
  • Relationship management and communication skills to drive performance
