Head Financial Accountant

Northern Suburbs, Cape Town

We are looking for a Head Financial Accountant to join a close-knit finance team & the Accountant will report directly to the CFO.

What you will bring:

• Education: Finance / Accounting Degree
• Experience: 3 - 4 years experience in financial accounting, including leadership experience
• Skills: Strong IFRS knowledge, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to thrive under pressure
• Tech Proficiency: Advanced skills in MS Office (especially Excel) and experience with various accounting packages

What you will do:

• Lead & Manage: Oversee a team of 8 while providing coaching and performance evaluations.
• Financial Oversight: Handle the full financial function for multiple statutory entities, including preparation of consolidated Management Accounts and Statements of Financial Position.
• Reporting & Compliance: Ensure accuracy in financial reporting, cashflow forecasting, and tax calculations. Prepare reports for the executive committee and manage year-end audits.
• Analysis & Coordination: Analyze financial results against budgets, investigate variances, and coordinate the annual budget process. Liaise with banks and SARS on financial matters.
