Well known private hospital group requires an experienced Hospital Manager.Duties & ResponsibilitiesEfficient Hospital Management
Lead strategic direction setting and planning for the Hospital area in alignment to the companys vision and mission
Develop the Hospital's standards based on global and local best practices to achieve operational excellence and quality care
Set goals and standards for the Hospital to support the business plans
Plan and utilise the available skills and equipment sets for maximum effectiveness and productivity
Support and guide relevant workstreams {i.e., Nursing, Patient Experience} to achieve operational success
Drive continuous improvement and identify and manage operational risks
Maintain quality patient care delivery standards through suitably qualified and registered professionals
Manage communication, service providers, projects (where applicable), budgets, resourcing, roll-out and change management as relating to Hospital Operations
Initiate and implement operational activities of the business unit aimed at delivering best patient experience, best outcomes, with cost efficiency
Ensure compliance to all relevant legislation applicable to Health and Safety
Streamline the Hospital and drive alignment, collaboration and synergy between the various stream lead and healthcare professionals to provide healthcare services
Take a strategic view of the value chain to ensure the Hospital is optimally integrated and optimised within operating context
Support and drive Group initiatives to strengthen funder relations and continuously work towards designated service provider status with funders
Collaborate with Chief Operations Officer, Chief Marketing Officer and Chief Medical Officer in the recruitment of Clinicians and Allied workers across all Medical disciplines

Enable and support contractors to deliver
Ensure each contractor, all their employees and equipment comply with the safety standards and have the required permits to perform the work
Supervise or delegate the supervision all the contractor operations and workers on the job sites daily to achieve timelines
Ensure work is performed following quality standards
Liaise with other departments and functions to enable the contractors to deliver on time

Management of the Hospital's Marketing and Patient Experience Strategy
In collaboration with the Chief Marketing Officer, develop a marketing strategy for the hospital aligned to the Group's business plan and marketing strategy
Understand competitor strategies, identify risks and implement controls in order to mitigate these risks
Identify areas for change and new business opportunities
Monitor and track patient experience indicators and take the necessary corrective actions
Collaborate with the outsourced hospital functions to ensure optimal patient experience

Co-create functional strategies and lead and manage the disciplines in portfolio
Collaboratively (with HO Function leads) develop the tactical strategy for the functions (administrative and clinical) in the portfolio
Provide a business performance management framework (information, processes, roles and responsibilities) which ensures issues are highlighted and actions are taken as required
Monitor overall value chain financial performance compared to plans and flag variances
With the relevant Functional leads at HO, drive the implementation of integrated corporate governance, compliance, integrity and ethics frameworks throughout the hospital and hold employees and service providers accountable for delivering on these frameworks
Identify innovative ways to improve business practices, processes and synergies to save costs, increase efficiencies and improve service delivery

Ensure optimised customer experience and service throughout the value chain
Build and maintain relationships with Doctors, Specialists and external providers
Promote alignment by understanding and communicating operation and customer needs and requirements throughout the Facility and at Group Level
Balance interests of a variety of stakeholders, readjusting priorities to respond to pressing and changing demands
Maintain active participation and membership in networking with organisations.
Manage stakeholder relationships and quality of service delivery to ensure successful overall business results
Establish and maintain strategic and collaborative relationships with Government and Healthcare bodies

Manage a sub-function that builds people and ensures excellent patient and service delivery
Implement a performance management plan that optimises delivery and enables a culture of recognition and fairness across the business area
In collaboration with HR lead sourcing, recruiting, onboarding and retention standards for direct reports and ensure the consistent application of standards
Provide timely guidance and feedback to direct report to help strengthen skill areas and leverage potential
Embed people-focused management strategies and implement policies that maximise employee potential (training and development)
Coach subordinates to be effective performers and help them prepare themselves for both short and mid-term challenges
Drive staff utilisation and productivity through the use of the Kronos system and the efficient management of resources

Forecast, secure and manage the budget
Provide guidance and framework for the budgeting processes aligned to Facility and Group strategy
Manage revenue, cost of sales, overheads, EBITDA and working capital
Collaborate with Group debtors and Finance and Patient Services in ensuring the achievement WIP /DNYB, rejections and debtors book targets
Appropriately plan and motivate for capital expenditure projects
Manage budget and cost control, i.e. organise expenditure to ensure effective cost controls / savings within functional responsibilities and ensure the efficient use of resources
Manage expenditure planning and variances within approved budget parameters
Drive operational efficiency and quality standards in line with the targeted financial performance of the business
With the support of relevant SMEs, manage and maintain all hospital assets (property, plant, equipment and stock)
Improve and maintain delivery of the health service by planning the services and accounting for the cost of care and the distribution of staff

Establish reporting best practice for area of responsibility
Monitor, measure and report on progress of delivery against baseline plan
Ensure complete, timeous and accurate reporting with appropriate levels of escalation to enable effective decision making
Ensure integrated view and reporting of relevant business information
Ensure the implementation of industry quality management, frameworks, systems and processes

Deploy an integrated risk management, governance and compliance framework throughout the business
Drive adherence to statutory standards, policies and procedures within the business unit to ensure compliance at all times and take remedial action where necessary
Establish, implement, monitor and audit the key business processes and metrics
