A multi-site SME business is looking to recruit a new Management Accountant within the finance department. The key purpose of the role is to produce management and financial accounts to support the Finance Director, ensuring the integrity of all processes leading to them, whilst adding value through analysis and commentary. In more detail, your remit will be:
Delivering accurate and timely management accounts and supporting information each month and to review with the relevant Senior Management Team
Partnering all budget holders to produce final budget schedules for board approval.
Managing forecasting and 6-monthly review process
Provide management information, analysis, backup and assistance to enable effective and informed decision making.
To support the Finance Director in producing the statutory accounts and Annual Report
Balance sheet reconciliations
Produce quarterly VAT returns for the Group
Manage the day to day transactions, overseeing one Accounts Assistant, including income processing, bank account management, purchase & sales ledger and cashflow.
Experience of management and financial accounting in a similar role in a small to medium sized organisation is essential with proven skills in financial analysis, modelling and budgeting/forecasting. You should have the ability to organise your own time and that of team members effectively, prioritising workload to meet deadlines. Communicating effectively to a wide audience and being able to present complex financial information in a meaningful and accessible way to a non-finance colleagues will be a key strength of the successful applicant. You must also be a car driver for accessibility
