Key Responsibilities:
- Tax Processes, Planning, and Projects:
- Lead and manage various tax-related processes, including strategic planning and the execution of tax projects.
- Ensure that these processes align with the broader financial and operational goals of the organisation.
- Tax Accounting and Reporting:
- Oversee VAT and tax reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and compliance in tax accounting and reporting.
- Provide detailed tax analysis and insights to support financial decision-making.
- Ensure Tax Compliance Across the Business:
- Monitor and enforce tax compliance across all business units, ensuring adherence to relevant laws and regulations.
- Implement best practices to maintain and improve compliance standards.
- Identify and Mitigate Tax Risk:
- Proactively identify potential tax risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
- Stay updated on the latest tax laws and regulations to ensure the business is always compliant.
- Manage Tax Audits:
- Lead and manage tax audits, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful outcomes.
- Prepare and present necessary documentation and responses to audit queries.
- Education:
- Post-graduate Honours Degree or Post-graduate Diploma in Accounting, Tax, or a related field is required.
- Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification is preferred.
- Professional Certifications:
- Registered tax practitioner/professional tax certification is preferred.
- VAT certification is required.
