Situated at our clients Cape Town Head Office, this role involves utilizing the vast pool of data available to develop innovative customer strategies that boost profits while working within constraints. Collaborate with the Risk and Analytics department to enhance clients' business performance by offering information, analyses, reports, and technical assistance for creating and executing data-driven credit risk strategies. Show strategic input and possess a diverse range of experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Aid the team in achieving a well-balanced credit portfolio through accurate forecasting of anticipated outcomes
Devise and execute champion/challenger customer strategies aligning with Board expectations
Monitor portfolio performance, ensuring compliance with predefined KPIs by proposing proactive adjustments
Address data integrity concerns, validate analytical results, and test assumptions to ensure accuracy
Analyze the effects of strategy alterations on application areas and account management strategies
Deliver insights through reports and presentations, presenting findings and recommendations to senior stakeholders
Use statistical techniques to forecast and track implemented strategies
Oversee the implementation of strategy changes into operational systems
Proficient in coding with retail experience
Credit professional with expertise in IFRS9, credit strategy rules, and risk registers
RequirementsPreferably hold a postgraduate degree with a focus on mathematical or statistical subjects
Business Science Degree / B.Com Degree or equivalent
Possess 8+ years of experience in consumer credit (in a Credit Risk analytics environment) with a track record of implementing solutions based on analytical findings
Familiarity with the credit life cycle
Experience in revolving store card or credit card operations is beneficial
Ability to work effectively under pressure and within structured and unstructured frameworks
Predictive Analytics experience with a strong numerical background is advantageous
Capable of monitoring models and reporting to the board
Assist in team growth through relevant support, training programs, and mentoring
Strong attention to detail with a focus on precision
High integrity and confidentiality
Proficient user of Microsoft Office suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
Experience in SAS (base and/or Enterprise Guide and/or SAS Viya)Knowledge of SAS Sequel / SAS Python
