Duties & Responsibilities
Reporting to the Financial Manager, responsibilities include:
- Cashbook / bank reconciliation (to Trial Balance)
- Assisting with the preparation of financial statements
- Overseeing client accounts
- Creating, sending and following up on invoices
- Updating financial records
- Collecting and reviewing data for reports
- Reporting discrepancies
- Processing EFT Payments
- Assisting with the preparation of Management Accounts and reports for meetings
- Assisting with BuildSmart problems/systems issues
- Generating all monthly statutory returns (VAT, EMP, etc.)
- Obtaining Letter of Good Standing from SARS/FEM /CIDB
- Processing year-end journals to ensure that all transactions are correctly recorded
- Maintaining Asset Register and processing monthly depreciation journals
- Processing year-end journals
- Reconciling and capturing cashbooks
- Assisting with BBBEE Audit
- Attending requisite meetings internally/externally
- Conducting accounting functions for other entities
Desired Experience & Qualification
Requirements:
- Grade 12 Certificate
- Formal Course in Pastel/Payroll or similar
- Formal Training in BuildSmart
- 3 to 5 years' Bookkeeping experience
- In-depth knowledge of financial management and taxation guidelines
- Excellent written and oral communication ability, English and Afrikaans
- Strong time management and organisational skills
- Demonstrated ability with Buildsmart
- Advance Computer literacy - Microsoft Outlook (PowerPoint / Excel / Word / Email)
- Prior experience in a Bookkeeping role in Construction or similar
