The Business
A global manufacturing business, generating over £400m TO per annum. They have a long established presence in this niche area of manufacturing and are without question the market-leader who have experienced solid growth in recent years despite challenging economic conditions, which speaks greatly to the stability of the organisation.
The Role
Working in collaboration with senior manufacturing personnel and the SLT, you will be responsible for managing monthly and quarterly reporting, as well as as playing an active role in budgeting and forecasting. You will be heavily involved in manufacturing reporting too, analysing manufacturing standards, quantities, variances, and business partnering the relevant members of the production team to challenge site performance and reduce cost where possible.
Managing inventory and capex proposals, playing an active role in costing, and analysing completed job performance. The role is varied but you'll also have your usual month end responsibilities, including accruals prepayments, journals, balance sheet recs etc. Ideally, you'll have a continuous improvement mindset, thinking critically about operational performance and financial control procedures to help the business evolve.

Duties
- Responsible for monthly management accounts preparations, including accruals, prepayments, journals and conduct variance analysis
- Prepare budgets and forecasts to a granular level, covering manufacturing targets
- Business partnering site to improve general performance whilst assessing opportunities for cost reduction
- Provide analysis to group finance regarding completed job performance
- Identify internal financial control procedures which enhance the business and supports its continued development
- Point of contact for internal and external audits
Experience
- Qualified or part-qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA or ACA)
- 3-5 years' experience in Management accounting
- Preferably, you will have experience working in a manufacturing environment and have developed an understanding of cost accounting
- Strong knowledge and experience of Microsoft Excel
- Experience managing a team and demonstration of leadership skills
- Experience with ERP systems in a complex environment
