I am pleased to be working exclusively with a long-standing SF Recruitment client based in Swadlincote to support in the recruitment of a Management Accountant for a specialist, global manufacturing business.
The organisation are a leading global specialist manufacturer and you will be working for a highly supportive Financial Controller in a key segment of the business. This is a fantastic opportunity working in an interesting, dynamic and collaborative environment for an individual with sound manufacturing accounting experience, particularly suited to someone with strong hands on BOM/standard costing/stock exposure.
About the role
Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will prepare, develop & analyse key financial information to support in enabling the management team to make key decisions do drive and support business objectives. This will involve maintaining local site accounts to reflect the structure and mangagement requirements.
Job duties:
- Prepare management accounts including, but not limited to, monthly profit and loss accounts by business module, labour utilisation, balance sheet analysis, other financial statements as required
- Prepare expense statements for support departments and compare to budget; recommend ways of cutting costs
- Analyse and report gross margin analysis by product, module and customer.
- Perform detailed material and labour cost variance analysis and commentaries.
- Provide a support service by working with all departments and the management team to help make financial decisions
- Assist in the preparation of budgets
- Provide analysis and commentary on inventory usage and book accuracy
- Maintain currency forecasts and hedging contracts
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations
- Reconciliations of intercompany transactions
- Prepare information to supply to group on Corporation tax, VAT, statutory accounts and national statistics returns.
- Prepare and post accruals and pre-payments journals
- Prepare information for audit
- Provide support and analysis for the business Excellence programmes savings.
- Working closely with all departments and the management team.
- Map local accounts for submission into the Group system
- Timely and accurate reporting to Group
About You
You will be a competent management accountant, based close to site due to the role being an office based position. You will have sound understanding of manufacturing processes, ideally with standard costing/Bill of Materials (BOM) exposure.

About You
You will be a competent management accountant, based close to site due to the role being an office based position. You will have sound understanding of manufacturing processes, ideally with standard costing/Bill of Materials (BOM) exposure.
- Applications will be considered from individuals studying towards accountancy qualification, QBE or qualfiied accountants (ACCA/CIMA)
- You will be a strong Excel user and comfortable utilising ERP systems
- Strong analytical skillset with excellent communication skills
