We have an exciting opportunity for a Management Accountant to join our team on a full time permanent basis at our head office in Pembridge, Herefordshire, with the opportunity for hybrid working.

As our Management Accountant you will be preparing, developing and analysing financial information in a timely and accurately manner, to allow the organisation to make well-informed decisions, all while adhering to the Accounting Manual and Company policies.

Responsibilities of our Management Accountant

• Responsibility for the Fixed Asset Register and the verification of assets across the UK sites (Pembridge, Selby, Glossop & Basildon)
• Ownership of the IFRS 16 Leased Asset Accounting ensuring Sharecontrol is accurate
• Continually reviewing Assets Under Construction and capitalising Assets
• Process the Disposal of Assets ensuring they have been approved accordingly
• Focus on the accuracy of forecasting Capex spend and Deprecation
• Working closely with key stakeholders to collate longer term Capex spend plans for the Budget and Strat Plan years
• Post-Acquisition Capex Project Reviews in accordance with the Accounting Manual
• Posting journals at month end including prepayments/accruals & provisions
• Allocation of Divisional Management & IT Recharges
• Provide cover for the Compliance Accountant with regards to business critical tasks such as: Balance Sheet Recs, Intercompany Balance Reconciliations, VAT, Inward Processing Relief (IPR), Plastic Packaging Tax.
• Performing checks and approving both vendor and payroll payments
• Creating Banks in SAP
• Vendor Confirmations
• Aiding the transition between Comshare/Tagetik
• Working with key stakeholders to provide timely and accurate information to assist with decision making
• Identifying and taking responsibility of areas which could be more efficient in order to give more time to more value added activities
• Liaising with internal and external audit when required

What we are looking for in our Management Accountant

You will have:

• An accounting qualification such as ACCA, CIMA and/or bachelor's degree, or working towards.
• Demonstrate ongoing professional development.
• Excellent Interpersonal skills
• Good literacy, numeracy and IT skills including MS Word and Excel.
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.

Whilst not essential, the following would be of benefit:

• Experienced in the use of SAP
