Management Accountant, Hospitality. Derbyshire - South Normanton. Salary up to £50,000
We are working with a group that owns and operates an established estate of high-quality food and drinks pubs in and around several districts in and around the Midlands.
To support their expansion, they are looking to hire a management accountant for the finance team.
Hospitality, multi-site experience is a must for this role, alongside strong management accountant experience. You will also ensure accurate general ledger balances, timely end-of-month processes, accurate relevant financial reporting and sufficient controls are maintained.

The role:
- Manage the month end process ensuring timely and accurate monthly management accounts are prepared, including accompanying variance analysis and robust balance sheet reconciliations to agreed deadlines.
- Provide excellent customer service to both internal and external stakeholders as part of the finance function of the business.
- Prepare weekly P&Ls for all pub outlets ensuring variances and trends are investigated and communicated to the operations team.
- Oversee Leasehold pub exit program accounting requirements.
- Supervise 1 member of staff, Senior EPOS administrator.
- Provide key support to the business in terms of financial & commercial insights.
- Preparation of balance sheet account reconciliations, following up on reconciling items and resolution of these in a timely manner.
- Support budgeting and planning cycles.
- Hold regular discussions with the Head of Finance and CFO with regards to risks and opportunities identified during the balance sheet review process & take a proactive approach when resolving any problems identified.
- Manage & provide ad-hoc information and reports to internal customers, as required. Audit & various project work.
You:
- ACCA, ACA or CIMA qualified.
- Hospitality, ideally multi-site experience, including setting and managing budgets and forecasts, presenting analysis and sound commercial decision-making.
- Commercial mindset & a knowledge of process improvement.
- Excellent knowledge of Budgeting, forecasting, and scenario modelling.
- Excellent communication skills.
