Our client is seeking a meticulous and proactive Senior Accounts Assistant / Bookkeeper to join their prestigious 5-star game lodge group. In this role, you will collaborate with Finance Managers, Operations Managers, and General Managers to support efficient and profitable financial operations across our hotels. Your responsibilities will span from budget compilation to monthly financial reporting, ensuring accuracy and adherence to company standards. Key Responsibilities:
- Budget & Financial Planning: Assist in the preparation of budgets, development of programs, schedules, and objectives for the efficient running of the hotels.
- Financial Returns: Accurately complete and submit daily, weekly, and monthly returns as per company standards.
- Accounts Processing: Process supplier invoices, liaise with suppliers, resolve queries, and manage accruals, prepayments, and petty cash.
- Invoice & Reconciliation: Verify Food & Beverage receiving, reconcile with purchases, match invoices with POs and receipts, and ensure Aged Accounts Payable report aligns with the General Ledger.
- Cash Management: Reconcile and balance cash, floats, and dockets with daily income and expenditure.
- Payroll Management: Complete monthly payroll and third-party statutory payments; VIP payroll experience is advantageous. Prepare monthly payroll journals.
- Debtors Management: Handle debtor processing, reconciliation, and collection.
- Documentation & Compliance: Ensure accurate documentation for commodity receipts and issues; manage stocktaking and ensure control systems are operating effectively.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and present monthly financial packs and reports to the Finance Manager, highlighting variances and discrepancies.
- Team Leadership: Oversee and train unit admin staff, ensuring adherence to financial manuals and checklists.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with advanced Excel skills.
- Proficiency in Pastel and VIP Payroll.
- Good working knowledge of Hospitality PMS systems (OPERA is a plus).
- 2-4 years of relevant experience as a Senior Accounts Assistant or similar role within the hospitality industry.
- Matric is a minimum requirement; additional qualifications are advantageous.
- Valid RSA ID.
