We are currently seeking an experienced leader to join this team in the role of Head of Financial Crime Investigations, Europe.

As Head of Financial Crime Investigations - Europe, you will work closely with the Global Head of FC Investigations and other Global and Regional colleagues to oversee and direct the effective delivery of FC Investigations for the markets of the Europe region.

Take responsibility for defining the strategic direction for Investigations and our closely aligned Risk Analytics function, managing strategic change projects, such as regional Investigation’s adoption of the Bank’s next generation transaction monitoring tool, overseeing the delivery of all investigations and analytical outputs, including controls management and the operational efficiency and effectiveness of the function, senior stakeholder engagement, and coordination with/oversight of in-country Investigations teams.

This is a senior leadership role, with a broad remit of responsibilities, including but not limited to:

• Direct and oversee the end-to-end delivery of Europe investigations, including collaboration with offshore, Global and in-country teams to achieve timely service delivery in line with regulatory expectations and Global Procedures. Build capability and maintain/improve operational effectiveness.
• Provide strategic direction for the function, including capacity planning, leading transformation initiatives for the function,
• Drive investigations quality/training agenda, support internal/external Assurance/Audit/Reg examinations, and location optimization.
• Provide strategic direction to the regional Risk Analysis and Discovery (RAD) team. Support regional RAD production and stakeholder engagement as necessary.
• Oversee compliance with Investigations procedures at country level & escalation as appropriate from those sites.
• Represent Europe Investigations in senior Group, Region, and occasionally Market governance fora and support the preparation of submissions for relevant fora as necessary.
• Serve as Investigations Control Owner and ensure Issues/Continuous Monitoring Assessments are appropriately managed.
• Lead the people agenda for Europe Investigations

Requirements

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

• Proven track record of strategic leadership, planning future capacity/capability requirements and delivering effective implementation planning.
• An effective people leader, including the ability to manage multiple teams and individuals to perform at their best, both through direct and matrix management arrangements.
• Capable of working in a complex environment with multiple variables and unknowns.
• Financial crime risk management experience, including the ability to manage complex operational matters arising from multiple sources.
• Excellent decision-making skills and judgement, including analytical and strategic thinking and an ability to prioritise and set clear targets.
• Stakeholder management, including effective communications, relationship building, negotiation and conflict resolution.
• Flexible and adaptable, showing agile approaches to work and an ability to reconcile different market, regulatory and Global requirements.
• FC Investigative experience is highly desirable.

The base location for this role could be Edinburgh or London.
