Salary:
£45,000 - £55,000 (depending on experience/qualifications)

Our client is looking to appoint a suitably experienced Financial Controller to oversee and manage the financial operations of a diverse business. This is a full time role based in Inverness with hybrid working available (minimum 2 days per week office based in Inverness). This is a stand alone role with responsibility for overseeing the day-to-day activities of the finance department across several divisions within the business.
  • Production of monthly and annual accounts for all divisions within the business as well as Group accounts.
  • Responsible for the management of Ledgers, Credit Control, Payroll and financial reporting.
  • Implementation of a formalised monthly financial close process to deliver timely management information.
  • Preparation of monthly reports and analysis of balance sheets, budgeting and forecasting, and other ad hoc analytical duties as required.
  • Financial reporting.
  • Oversee payroll.
  • Manage banking, insurances, utilities etc.
  • Review and improvement of financial systems and procedures, creating and implementing company policies to improve efficiencies.
  • Support department heads with financial reporting and record keeping.
  • Contributing as part of the senior management team.
  • Updating and maintaining accurate financial records in line with regulations and procedures.
  • Responsible for ensuring the prompt submission of all statutory requirements.
  • Collaborate with external accountants to ensure compliance with accounting standards.
  • Stay updated with changes in financial regulations and accounting standards, ensuring compliance and recommending necessary adjustments to accounting policies and procedures.
  • Manage company bank accounts, carrying out reconciliations and investigating variances and discrepancies.
  • Process electronic payments and carry out BACS/Direct debit runs.

Skills and Experience
  • Qualified/Part Qualified Accountant or qualified by experience in a similar role (ideally with a recognised qualification,ACCA or CIMA).
  • Commercial awareness with the ability to contribute to the Group as part of the Senior Management Team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence others in order to achieve results and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent IT skills including financial software systems (Sage preferred but not essential).
  • Ability to manage time effectively working under pressure prioritising workload and multi -tasking.
