Finance Manager - Up to £60,000 - Preston/Hybrid
Are you a qualified accountant with a keen eye for detail and a passion for accuracy? We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Management Accountant to join our busy Finance department. If you thrive in a high-volume environment and have a proven track record of delivering timely and precise management accounts, we want to hear from you!
Key
Responsibilities:
Timely Production of Management Accounts: Deliver accurate monthly management accounts, including accruals, prepayments, account analysis, and key P&L reconciliations.
Balance Sheet Reconciliation: Ensure all reconciliations are completed and reviewed in line with the group timetable, identifying and addressing any issues promptly.
Financial Meetings: Lead regular aged debtor and creditor meetings, ensuring aged items are investigated and resolved efficiently.
Variance Analysis: Investigate and report on significant variances against budget and forecast, identifying potential risks and opportunities.
Audit & Compliance: Liaise with internal and external auditors, providing accurate and timely information to facilitate a smooth audit process. Oversee VAT and other regulatory returns.
Process Improvement: Identify inefficiencies in processes, propose changes, and participate in ad hoc improvement projects.
Intercompany Reconciliation: Manage intercompany reconciliation and settlement processes.
Supporting Documentation: Assist in the preparation of supporting schedules for quarterly reporting, annual budgets, and statutory accounts.
Qualifications & Experience:
Essential:
CIMA, ACCA, or ACA qualified
3+ years of experience in a busy Finance department
Strong proficiency in Excel (intermediate to advanced level)
Experience in producing accurate management accounts under strict deadlines
Excellent communication and negotiation skills
Desirable:
Experience in a high-volume business environment
Background in the Travel Industry
Familiarity with Sage, especially Sage X3
Ability to influence and support staff development
Experience with external auditors
Critical Competencies:
Attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Positive attitude and proactive approach
Strong problem-solving skills
