Duties & Responsibilities
Our reputable Construction client is seeking a Payroll Manager to join their team based in Pretoria.

Purpose of the job- This role requires a leader who can take ownership of the payroll process, manage a small team, and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations. Proficiency in VIP Payroll, Excel, and the BuildSmart system is essential.

Hours: 7:30 - 16:30

Requirements:
  • Matric
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years experience in a payroll/accounting role with a focus on managing payroll systems and teams
  • Proficiency in VIP Payroll and Excel (Essential).
  • BuildSmart - (preferable)/(Training will be provided).
  • Strong understanding of payroll systems, tax, and BCEA calculations within the construction industry.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to handle conflict, take initiative, and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • High level of attention to detail and integrity.


Responsibilities:
  • Full Payroll Function: Execute and manage payroll for multiple companies on a monthly basis, ensuring accurate and timely payments. Cover all aspects of payroll, including tax, BCEA calculations, and payroll system setup.
  • Team Management: Manage a team of 2-3 people, including a junior payroll admin and a site manager. Train and empower team members, ensuring they are capable of handling payroll tasks independently and efficiently.
  • Systems Management: Proficiently use VIP Payroll and Excel for payroll processing and reporting. Manage and maintain payroll systems, ensuring all data is up-to-date and compliant with regulations. Be willing to learn and adapt to the BSmart system.
  • Compliance and Reporting: Ensure compliance with all legal requirements, including tax and BCEA regulations. Handle conflict management and ensure site staff adhere to deadlines. Provide monthly overviews and analyses to senior management.
  • Process Improvement and Initiative: Take control of the payroll function, drive continuous improvements, and make the process your own. Manage a fast-paced, dynamic environment, staying organized and methodical to handle multiple moving parts effectively
