Are you currently working as a Payroll Co-ordinator? Do you have knowledge and experience of PAYE and with NI contribution calculations? Do you have a high level of numeracy? If you’ve answered yes, then you could be the right person to join the payroll team!

What you can expect as a Payroll Co-ordinator:
  • Salary of £25,000-£35,000 DOE

As our new Payroll Co-Ordinator, you will be responsible for maintaining and inputting all payroll related information into a computerised payroll system in a precise and accurate manner. You will be responsible for the whole payroll function being performed efficiently and effectively.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Input monthly/weekly payroll, bonus and overtime data into the Payroll System in accordance with statutory and contractual obligations
  • Maintain employee absence records on a weekly basis and calculate statutory and occupational sickness payments for payroll input
  • Update and monitor the monthly pension schedule ready for payment and raise payments for any earning arrestment’s
  • Monitor and process all staffing changes including starters, transfers, leavers and other amendments to salaries and employee data in compliance with company policy and payroll requirement
  • Input, calculate, record and report both statutory and occupational maternity, paternity and adoption payments
  • Prepare and provide information for internal clients, e.g. HR, cost centre etc, as well as external agencies e.g. HMRC etc
  • Advise employees and managers on payroll issues as first point of contact for enquiries
  • Send the payroll for payment to pre-defined timescales
  • Assist with other payroll related tasks on an ad hoc basis

We are looking for someone with:

•High level of numeracy and ability to deal accurately with calculations of a complex nature

•Ability to convey information accurately, clearly and simply in a manner easily understood

•Attention to detail with a pro-active attitude

•Ability to work on own initiative and to organise and prioritise own work

•Effective communication and interpersonal skills

•Customer focus - making every effort to meet the needs and expectations of internal and external customers

•Good IT proficiency (e.g. Microsoft Word and Excel)

•Knowledge and experience of PAYE and NI Contribution calculations

•Knowledge of Statutory Payments and Deductions including SSP, SMP, PAYE, NI etc

•Experience of working with a computerised payroll system

•Experience of Workday and ADP systems
