Job Summary
The Assistant Group Financial Manager will support the Group Financial Manager in overseeing the financial operations of the company and its subsidiaries. The role includes assisting in budgeting, financial reporting, auditing, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. The ideal candidate will have strong financial acumen, excellent organizational skills, and experience in corporate financial management.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Analysis
Assist in preparing and reviewing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for the group and its subsidiaries.
Provide detailed financial analysis and performance reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
Ensure timely and accurate submission of all financial reports.
Budgeting & Forecasting
Assist in the preparation and coordination of annual budgets and periodic forecasts.
Analyze variances between budgeted and actual financial performance, identifying key trends and insights.
Provide input on financial strategies to improve the company's profitability.
Audit & Compliance
Assist in coordinating external and internal audits, ensuring that audit processes are efficient and accurate.
Ensure compliance with financial regulations, accounting standards, tax laws, and company policies.
Help maintain the internal control environment, ensuring policies and procedures are adhered to across the group.
Treasury & Cash Management
Assist in managing the group's cash flow and liquidity to ensure financial stability.
Help oversee bank accounts and manage relationships with financial institutions.
Financial Operations
Support the management of accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger activities.
Ensure the accurate and timely processing of payroll, tax submissions, and other financial transactions.
Assist in developing and implementing financial systems and software to improve efficiencies.
Strategic Planning
Work closely with the Group Financial Manager in developing and executing financial strategies that support the overall goals of the group.
Contribute to financial modeling and analysis for strategic projects, mergers, acquisitions, and capital investments.
Assist in preparing presentations and reports for senior management and stakeholders.
Team Leadership & Development
Support and mentor junior finance staff within the group, providing guidance and training where necessary.
Assist in managing the performance of the finance team, ensuring productivity and compliance with company objectives.
Foster a collaborative and results-driven culture within the financial department.
Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA/CA or equivalent qualification is highly desirable).
5+ years of experience in financial management, accounting, or a related field, preferably in a group or multi-entity environment.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles (IFRS, GAAP) and financial regulations.
Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems.
Advanced Excel skills.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple deadlines.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact with various stakeholders at different levels.
