Senior Finance Executive - Krugersdorp Tarlton

Seeking an accomplished Senior Finance Executive to join our esteemed team. This pivotal role will oversee all aspects of financial management, strategic planning, and reporting, while providing leadership to the finance team. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and collaborating closely with the executive leadership team and board of directors, this position offers a unique opportunity to drive financial strategy and contribute to the continued success of our dynamic organization.
Duties & Responsibilities
Responsibilities:
  • Financial Leadership:
    • Provide strategic guidance and direction in all areas of financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
    • Lead the finance team in delivering accurate and timely financial reporting, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and accounting standards.
    • Develop and implement robust financial controls and processes to safeguard assets and optimize financial performance.
  • Strategic Planning:
    • Collaborate with the executive leadership team to develop long-term financial plans and strategic initiatives aligned with organizational goals.
    • Conduct financial analysis and modelling to support decision-making on investments, capital projects, and business expansion opportunities. Evaluate and advise on the financial implications of strategic decisions, ensuring alignment with the company's mission and objectives
  • Board Reporting and Governance:
    • Prepare comprehensive financial reports and presentations for the board of directors, providing insights into key financial metrics, trends, and risks.
    • Serve as a primary liaison between the finance function and the board, addressing inquiries, providing guidance, and facilitating discussions on financial matters.
    • Ensure compliance with board governance requirements and provide recommendations for improvements to financial policies and procedures.
  • Team Leadership and Development:
    • Manage and mentor a team of finance professionals, including finance managers and admin managers, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence.
    • Set clear performance expectations, provide ongoing feedback and coaching, and facilitate professional development opportunities for team members.
    • Foster cross-functional collaboration with other departments to support organizational goals and initiatives.
  • Risk Management and Compliance:
    • Identify and assess financial risks and opportunities, implementing strategies to mitigate risks and capitalize on opportunities for growth.
    • Stay abreast of regulatory changes and industry trends affecting the agricultural and financial sectors, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations. Coordinate with internal and external auditors to facilitate audits and address any audit findings in a timely manner
  • Desired Experience & Qualification
    Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field; MBA or CTA preferred.
    • Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in finance or accounting roles, with at least 3 years in a senior leadership position.
    • Proven track record of success in financial management, strategic planning, and board reporting within a complex organization.
    • Experience managing managers and leading high-performing teams, with strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
    • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with executive leadership, board members, and external stakeholders.
    • Strong financial acumen, analytical skills, and attention to detail, with the ability to translate financial data into actionable insights.
    • Expertise in financial modelling, forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis.
    • Knowledge of agricultural economics and market dynamics is a plus.
    • Proficiency in financial software and systems, including Multicat, Microsoft Excel, and Financial modelling tools.
