Firm Risk Management

Firm Risk Management (FRM) supports Morgan Stanley to achieve its business goals by partnering with business units across the Firm to realize efficient risk-adjusted returns, acting as a strategic advisor to the Board and protecting the Firm from exposure to losses as a result of credit, market, liquidity, model and other risks.

Primary Responsibilities

The role offers an opportunity to work closely with stakeholders across Firm Risk Management that support the U.S. Banks. Key responsibilities include:

  • Support the continuous improvement and enhancement of the U.S. Banks Risk Governance Framework (RGF) including Risk Appetite Statements, Risk Assessments, and Risk Metrics
  • Assist RGF adherence process to assess effectiveness of the RGF
  • Compile reports on the US Banks data quality and open issues
  • Track status of initiatives to improve data quality
  • Assist business-as-usual and ad-hoc management reporting
  • Coordinate and deliver ad-hoc analysis as required
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders
  • Support ad-hoc request pertaining to RGF or Data

Bachelor's Degree required, ideally in Business, Finance, or similar :

  • Basic knowledge of database structures
  • 2 -3 years of experience in global and complex settings in the Financial Services industry (Control, Regulatory, Risk, Compliance, or Internal Audit background preferred)
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. Familiarity with the software development lifecycle
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to collaborate effectively and establish trust with stakeholders across the business
  • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail
  • Self-starter, ability to work independently and bring tasks to completion
  • Ability to excel in a fast-paced changing environment and manage competing deadlines
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
