River is an electric vehicle startup building multi-utility scooters. The company builds products ground up with a strong focus on design and engineering. Currently, the company is in the expansion stage with our factory being set up and getting ready for our vehicle delivery in August. River is a fast growing company with a team of 200+ right now and is backed by marquee international investors - these are mobility focused funds backed by some of the big names in the automotive industry.
We are seeking a highly experienced and accomplished Chartered Accountant to join our team as a Financial Controller. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing various financial functions, including procure to pay, order to cash, record to report, tax compliance, statutory financial statements, direct taxation, and team management.
Key
Responsibilities:
• Manage and optimize the end-to-end financial processes, including procure to pay and order to cash.
• Oversee the record to report process, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance.
• Lead tax compliance efforts, working with relevant authorities to ensure adherence to all tax regulations.
• Prepare and review statutory financial statements, ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
• Manage direct taxation, including the preparation and filing of tax returns.
• Lead and develop a high-performing finance team, consisting of 10 to 15 members.
• Implement and maintain financial policies, procedures, and internal controls.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and standards.
• Implement Financial systems such as SAP.
Requirements:
• Chartered Accountant (CA) with 9 to 12 years of relevant experience.
• Strong knowledge of financial accounting principles and practices.
• Proven experience in managing procure to pay, order to cash, and record to report processes.
• Expertise in tax compliance, direct taxation, and statutory financial statement preparation.
• Demonstrated team management experience, including the ability to lead and develop a finance team of 10 to 15 members.
• Proficiency with financial software and ERP systems.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and leadership abilities.
• Ability to work collaboratively and drive results in a team-oriented environment.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy
