JOB TITLE:
Tax Manager
ROLE TYPE: Full time/permanent. Hybrid working


LOCATION:
North London (Hertfordshire)
HOURS / DAYS (per week): 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. (3 days in the office, 2 days working from home)
START DATE: ASAP.
SALARY RANGE: £50,000 to £55,000 per annum (depending on experience)
NOTICE & PROBATION PERIODS: 3 Months
BENEFITS / BONUSES / HOLIDAYS: 25 Days Annual Leave, plus Bank Holidays. Further incentives tbc.

JOB DESCRIPTION: This firm are a well-known medium-sized Accountancy Practice situated in North London/Hertfordshire area, and they are looking for a Tax Manager to join their fantastic team of Accountants within their busy Tax department. Working with the Tax Juniors and Audit department, this role will involve the successful candidate working on a portfolio of clients consisting of sole traders, partnerships, companies and their Directors. You will be reporting directly to the Tax Partner within the firm.

RESPONSIBILITIES (include but not limited to):
- To act as a day-to-day point of contact for the client, and to practice the principles of excellent client service at all times.
- To be responsible for undertaking the compliance for both personal and corporate clients (preparing Corporation Tax Returns, Personal Tax Returns, Trust and Estate Returns and forms P11D).
- To provide adequate briefing, supervision and training for junior staff.
- To develop and maintain an advanced level of technical knowledge through appropriate reading and courses.
- To provide assistance on Tax planning projects including capital gains tax, residence and domicile issues, trusts etc.
- Work with partners on one-off technical assignments for new and existing clients.
- To be the first interface for tax/VAT enquiries
- This role requires excellent communication skills and experience dealing with clients.

ANY SPECIFIC TRAINING / QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS:
- Must have a minimum of 3 years' experience in a mixed tax role.
- Must have obtained ATT or CTA (or equivalent) qualification.
- Good technical skills and awareness on how to use legislation.
- Good working knowledge of Iris Tax products is preferred.
