Tate recruitment have joined with a local authority business located in Stevenage to assist in the search for a Finance Officer.

Finance Officer
  • £12.18 per hour
  • Fully office based- Stevenage
  • Hours:37 per week Monday - Friday
  • Temp contract- 3 months

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

To support the delivery of an effective Finance Service for Adult Care Services.

MAIN AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:
  • To deliver financial support, undertake administrative tasks and to carry out transnational processes accurately and efficiently within the team as required.
  • Provide focused financial information to all stakeholders, including finance colleagues, ACS Managers, service users and care providers.
  • To assist in the promotion of best financial practice and compliance with the relevant accounting, statutory and financial regulations and procedures.
  • To liaise and work closely with colleagues across Adult Care Services to deliver financial services dealing with payments, charging, client finances and debt.
  • To respond to queries from the public, care providers or other stakeholders.
  • To support the accurate and timely processing and recording of financial data and maintenance of financial records.


PERSONAL SPECIFICATION:
  • You will be a highly motivated individual, capable of developing professional relationships with all stakeholders, including suppliers, service users and budget managers.
  • You will have experience of working in a team environment and have excellent communication skills.
  • You will demonstrate the ability to deal with difficult telephone conversations.
  • The successful candidate will have an understanding of financial processes and procedures and the ability to explain financial matters.
  • You will be competent at keeping accurate manual and computer records.
  • Good IT skills and experience of working with large data bases.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft office applications especially excel.
  • Knowledge of SAP would be beneficial.
