The role:

Key responsibilities for this role:

The role offers the opportunity to be involved in a wide range of Actuarial Operations work supporting Finance and the wider business, including:
  • the provision of technical actuarial calculations and maintenance of the transfer and commutation bases for non-profit and with-profit annuities;
  • liaising with stakeholders across the wider business and with external parties to ensure understanding of complex and technical actuarial information, developing relationships with key business areas;
  • development and review of documented calculation bases for preparing illustrations and administration system calculations for our new and existing life, pension and investment products; and
  • supporting investigations into actuarial calculation related queries raised by other Actuarial areas and the wider business.


Key knowledge, skills and experience:
  • Previous experience within an actuarial team
  • Highly effective communication skills, both written and oral
  • Able to disseminate quality information to internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience of developing a broad base of relationships with key contacts across Finance and with key business stakeholders
  • Comfortable communicating business issues to appropriate parties and providing support to stakeholders
  • Strong experience of using Microsoft applications
  • Ability to deliver on multiple tasks to demanding timescales
  • Pension knowledge desirable although not essential
