Job description: *Statutory Senior Accountant:*
Reports to: Controller
Location: Remote
General Accounting Responsibilities:

* Reconciling subledger to general ledger account balances
* Prepare tax accrual and analyze accounts, journal entries, reconciliations for FIT (GAAP and STAT) and Premium Taxes
* Prepare and analyze accounts, journal entries, reconciliations for investments
* Prepare month end management reports with Renovo
* Assist with Statutory quarterly filings and monthly Statutory accounting
* Assist with regulatory filings as needed
* Assist with forecast of RBC projections as needed throughout the year
* Help design and maintain accounting policies, implement automation of accounting processes, and improve internal control design.
* Audit support as needed
* Answers accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data
* Protects organizations value by keeping information confidential
* Accomplishes accounting and organization mission by completed related results as needed.
* Complies with the state and federal laws, Department of Insurance Criteria, insurance carrier and Company policies, procedures, and work rules
* Regular and prompt attendance
* Other duties as assigned
Qualifications: Qualifications
Required Skills & Knowledge:

* BS in Accounting from an accredited university or college
* Statutory accounting experience required
* Strong Excel skills
* Organized and comfortable working independently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
* Willingness to take on challenges and think constructively to solve problems
* Must be a clear communicator and a team player
* NetSuite General Ledger experience preferred
* Experience with Property and casualty insurance preferred
* Certified Public Accountant (CPA) strongly preferred
