A professional services firm in New York City is currently seeking an experienced Tax professional, with a Nonprofit background, to join their team as their new Tax Manager. Specializing in Nonprofits, the Tax Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing tax compliance, consulting, and planning services for nonprofit organizations.

Responsibilities:
The Tax Manager will
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships through regular communication and meetings
  • Oversee the preparation and review of federal, state, and local tax filings for clients
  • Ensure compliance with tax laws, regulations, and reporting requirements.
  • Provide strategic tax planning and consulting services to nonprofit clients
  • Identify opportunities for tax savings and efficiencies
  • Advise clients on the tax implications of various transactions and activities
  • Analyze financial data to assess the tax implications for clients
  • Collaborate with other departments to gather relevant financial information
  • Identify and mitigate tax-related risks for clients.
  • Implement best practices to ensure accurate and compliant tax reporting
  • Perform other duties, as needed
Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience in Tax Compliance and consulting for Nonprofit organizations
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Private foundation knowledge
  • Strong understanding of Federal, State, and Local Tax laws applicable to Nonprofits
  • Microsoft Excel proficient
  • Solid analytical, mathematical, and research skills
  • Great interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Highly organized
