Job Details
The Tax Supervisor requires knowledge of intermediate tax principals of which would be derived from several years of experience as a Senior Associate and the ability to assign work, manage progress and meet deadlines. The Supervisor is responsible for utilizing research skills, applying tax foundational knowledge to understand potential tax issues, gathering client information necessary for filing, participating in tax planning, recognizing, and communicating potential risks, preparing tax accrual workpapers and working with tax software applications to complete tax returns for review.
The preference is for this to be a hybrid role coming into the office 2 days per week.
Essential Functions:
· Prepare a variety of business and individual tax returns including S-Corp, Partnership, HNW individual, C-Corp and Trust returns.
· Research tax issues
· Recognize potential problems within engagements and discuss these with the manager or partner
· Prepare tax projections
· Prepare tax planning assignments
· Prepare other tax consulting projects, as needed
· Identify key issues facing clients and discuss possible solutions to increase quality and efficiency.
· Maintain a command of GAAP, GAAS, and any other common audit/tax techniques.
· Exhibit strong communications skills (verbal; written; presentation) with lower level associates, management/partners, and clients.
· Provide timely performance and behavior feedback to lower level associates via verbal discussions and/or evaluations.
· Communicate with manager regarding work-loads and project status
· Assist on other non-tax work in offseason such as financial statement compilations, reviews, and audits
Supervisory Responsibilities: Yes
Minimum Qualifications:
· 3-4 years of tax experience in public accounting is required
· Bachelor's in accounting required, Masters in Tax preferred
· CPA License preferred
· Extensive experience with pass-through entities strongly preferred
· Proficient in S-Corp, Partnership, High Net Worth individual, C-Corp and Trust taxation desired.
· Knowledge of CCH Prosystems is a plus
Core Responsibilities:
· Leading Managing and Holding People Accountable (LMA)
· Learn and begin to apply growth process (participates in assigned RC,, pipeline support, COPs, etc.)
· Supervises the engagement (job) project management, billing, ensures QC (technical) standards
· Takes care of the client (meets deadlines, timely communication)
· Develops engagement team (prepares seniors to the next level)

Pay Range: $110,000 - $135,000
