Partnership Employment has partnered with one of the largest privately-held independent oil & gas companies in Houston, TX and we are seeking a Staff Accountant for a full-time job opportunity. The ideal candidate for this role will have 3-6 years of experience. As well as direct revenue accounting experience, experience with booking revenue on the land side, and have very strong MS Excel skills. It is essential that this candidate brings analytical and organizational skills in order to best support the accounting team. This company has excellent benefits as well as bonus opportunities.
Responsibilities
Work closely with the department heads to understand and ensure accuracy of all financial reporting activity
Assist in preparation and distribution of financial statements
Aid in the monthly revenue booking, DOI maintenance, returning owner relations inquiries, and escheat reporting.
Prepare financial statements and supporting schedules according to monthly close schedule
Accruals- research outside operated sales on wells for a series of properties to provide an oil, gas, and NGL accrual on a monthly basis
Oil & gas state royalties- prepare, file, and pay production taxes as assigned; reconcile any differences
Oil & gas severance tax- prepare, file, and pay production taxes as assigned/ reconcile any differences
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Accounting, Economics, or Finance
Must have Oil & Gas Experience
3-6 years' experience in accounting
Fully onsite and hours are flexible with a half day on Friday's
Proficient in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP's/pivot tables (index match) preferred method for excel)
