Are you a dedicated and detail-oriented individual with a passion for numbers and financial analysis?Duties & ResponsibilitiesMy client is currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Accountant to join their growing team.

This role is based in Durban North.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Analysis and Reporting:

• Assist operations management in reducing costs and improving profit through close analysis and reporting of financial data, especially focusing on deviations from the budget.

Record Keeping:

• Maintain accurate records of company accounts in strict accordance with legal and unit office requirements.

Audit Coordination:

• Effectively coordinate audits and take prompt corrective action where necessary to ensure compliance and accuracy.

Creditors and Debtors Management:

• Ensure the smooth and accurate processing of creditors' payments.
• Ensure debtors are correctly and accurately invoiced, with payments received in a timely manner.

Customer Service:

• Accurately and timely meet the accounting needs of internal customers, fostering positive relationships and delivering exceptional service.

Team Leadership:

• Build a competent and motivated team of accounting staff through confident and caring leadership.

Compliance:

• Ensure strict compliance with all accounting-relevant company policies and procedures.

Regulatory Awareness:

• Keep up to date with all relevant changes in tax and accounting regulations, ensuring the organization remains fully compliant.

Statutory Returns:

• Submit accurate statutory returns by deadlines to meet legal requirements.

Team Collaboration:

• Work collaboratively as part of a team or independently to deliver high-quality standards consistently and accurately.

Qualifications and Skills Needed:

• BCom degree in Financial Accounting
• 4 years' experience in a similar role as an Accountant
