Our client, a national favorite and a listed company, requires a strong, seasoned and capable individual to head up their strong Accounts Payable Team.Duties & ResponsibilitiesThe Person:

• Matric with higher grade Maths and Accounting
• Diploma/Degree in Financial Accounting
• High level of numeral literacy
• Min 2 years' experience in supervisory role
• Able to lead a team
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and SAP

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work under pressure and adhere to deadlines

The Job:

• Supervise and ensure that accurate and timeous reconciliations are submitted
• Prepared monthly, weekly and daily payment batches
• Resolve supplier queries in conjunction with the Recon Clerks to ensure all queries are resolved timeously
• Prepare, review and upload adjustments as and when required
• Ensure all relevant documentation is appropriately captured and up to date
• Ensure that all set objectives are met (Individual and Team)
• Assist with month-end reporting
• Assist with audit requirements for internal and external engagements
• Prepare timeous and accurate cash forecasting for team
• Manage open portal claims with team to get suppliers to resolve open claims timeously
• Review the creditors ledger to ensure aged items are actioned and account kept current
• Conduct grievance and disciplinary procedures when required
• Manage staff performance
• Facilitate team development, attendance and other issues
