Requirements:
- Proven experience as an Accountant.
- Completed tertiary qualification in Accounting.
- Moderate to excellent Excel skills (MS Office Suite).
- Experience in a commercial, corporate, or operational environment.
- Previous experience as an Accountant in an operational setting.
- Strong knowledge of financial processes, systems, and related laws.
- Manage accounts up to the balance sheet and income statement level.
- Ensured the accuracy and relevance of accounts with meaningful and precise financial information.
- Computer literate (experience in Google Drive, Sheets and Docs preferable).
- Responsible for preparing monthly management accounts for various entities, including balance sheets, income statements, and supporting schedules.
- Ensure the accuracy of Management Accounts packs and meet established deadlines.
- Analyze Budget vs Actual variances and communicate findings.
- Conducted reconciliations and generated reports for various company accounts related to cash flow.
- Provide management and guidance to the Cashbook, Payments and Creditors Controller, and Credit Controller.
- Prepare audit packs and collaborate with auditors on annual financial statements.
- Handle VAT submissions and other statutory returns.
- Review payments for accurate allocation and VAT treatment.
- Perform regular reviews of cashbooks, invoicing, and debtors' age analysis, assisting with credit control management.
- Authorize payments on the banking portal.
- Investigate expense variances and include findings in Income Statement schedules as notes.
- Address and promptly follow up on account queries.
- Manage ad hoc projects, queries, and analyses as needed.
- Assist the Financial Manager as required.
- Evaluate and improve internal control systems to promote more efficient management.
- Deliver accurate monthly management accounts within agreed timelines.
