- Degree or Diploma in Accounting / Finance (essential)
- Stable employment history
- 5 -10 years related experience
- Proficiency in Pastel (essential)
- Financial Record Maintenance: Oversee and maintain accurate records of financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable and General Ledger entries.
- Reconciliation: Perform regular bank reconciliations, verify discrepancies and ensure that all financial statements and ledgers are accurate and up-to-date.
- Reporting: Prepare and present financial reports, such as Balance Sheets, income statements and cash flow statements, for management review. This may include monthly, quarterly, or annual reports.
- Payroll Processing: Manage and process payroll, ensuring timely and accurate payment to employees and handle related tasks such as tax withholdings and benefits administration.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies and relevant laws and regulations. This includes preparing for and assisting with audits.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in budgeting processes, financial forecasting and variance analysis to support strategic decision-making.
- Data Management: Maintain and update financial databases and records, ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
- Accounts Management: Handle invoicing, manage accounts receivable and payable and follow up on outstanding payments.
- Internal Controls: Develop and implement internal controls and procedures to safeguard the organization's financial assets.
- Team Supervision: Supervise and mentor junior bookkeeping staff, providing guidance and training as needed.
- Financial Analysis: Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances and areas for improvement, providing insights to senior management.
- System Improvement: Evaluate and recommend improvements to accounting systems and processes for greater efficiency and accuracy.
