My client, a legal company in Johannesburg North, is urgently hiring for a Payroll Accountant.
Key Responsibilities:
Payroll Processing: Accurately process payroll for all employees, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
Tax Compliance: Prepare and file payroll-related tax returns, including PAYE, UIF, and other statutory deductions.
Record Keeping: Maintain accurate payroll records, including employee information, payroll summaries, and reports.
Reconciliation: Reconcile payroll accounts, ensuring accuracy in payments and deductions.
Audits: Assist with internal and external payroll audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations.
Reporting: Generate payroll reports for management, including salary breakdowns, tax liabilities, and other payroll-related data.
Problem Solving: Address and resolve payroll discrepancies or issues raised by employees or management.
Confidentiality: Ensure the confidentiality and security of payroll information.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Education: Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in payroll accounting or a related role.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in payroll software (e.g., Sage, SAP, Pastel) and MS Excel.
Knowledge: Strong understanding of payroll regulations, tax laws, and compliance requirements.
Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in processing payroll and handling financial data.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for liaising with employees and management.
Problem-Solving: Ability to identify and resolve payroll-related issues efficiently.
Preferred:
Certification in payroll management or related qualifications.
Salary: R30k
