What you will be doing
The Management Accountant will report to the Finance Manager and form part of the Management Accounts (MA) team.
This team is responsible for the reporting of business information and financial performance data across the EMI group of companies.
- Be responsible for posting monthly payroll journals for the majority of the group, analysing and writing monthly variance against prior year and target where necessary.
- Review and approval of those payroll journals for entities posted locally, and investigation into any variances
- Monthly payroll reconciliations (P&L to payroll reports) as well as Balance sheet reconciliations ensuring all discrepancies are dealt with within the month.
- Preparation of data for publishing to monthly headcount report and reconciliation to HR system
- Ownership, preparation and analysis of Salary and salary related supporting schedules as part of the month end close process to ensure accurate reporting to the Leadership Team along with meaningful insights into variances MoM and against Budget
- Accruals and prepayments for several opex areas, analysing and writing monthly variance against prior year and target where necessary.
- Analysing the monthly Divisional reports for our Finance and Operations and Human Resources divisions, supporting the FP&A team with their business partnering activities.
- Work with overseas office to ensure accurately and timely information for audit and other deadlines.
- Work with the Accounts Payable team to ensure invoices are coded correctly.
- Assist in year-end accounts, statutory reporting and the year end Audit.
- Ad-hoc reporting and analysis as required.
- Collaborate with FP&A when required with timely information.
What you’ll need:
- Part-qualified accountant, or an individual studying towards their qualification, with at least 1 years’ relevant experience within a management accounts function.
- An enthusiastic and ambitious individual.
- Able to take ownership of your own workload and be proactive and inquisitive.
- Experience of Foreign entities would be an advantage but not essential
- Strong communication skills.
- A knowledge of SAGE, Powerbi and Microsoft Dynamics 365 would be an advantage.
- Previous payroll accounting experience an advantage
