Reference: JHB004046-RM-1Our client is seeking a highly skilled and commercially astute Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join our executive team. The ideal candidate will be a Chartered Accountant (CA/SA) with a track record in managing financial operations, including tender processes, debtors, pricing strategies, and overall financial management. The CFO will play a pivotal role in driving the financial strategy, ensuring operational efficiency, and supporting the company's growth initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Financial Leadership: Lead the finance department and contribute to overall business strategy by providing sound financial advice to the executive team.
Tender Management: Oversee the financial aspects of tenders, ensuring competitive pricing while adhering to regulatory and legal requirements.
Debtor Management: Implement and manage strategies to optimize debtor collections, minimize bad debts, and maintain healthy cash flow.
Pricing Strategy: Develop and manage pricing strategies in collaboration with senior management, ensuring profitability and competitiveness in the market.
Financial Planning & Analysis: Provide detailed financial analysis to inform decision-making, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling.
Budgeting & Forecasting: Lead the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts, ensuring alignment with the company's strategic objectives and operational needs.
Risk Management: Identify financial risks and implement mitigation strategies to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with internal controls.
Compliance & Governance: Ensure adherence to all financial regulations, accounting standards, and corporate governance policies, including the management of external audits.
Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team, promoting a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
Financial Reporting: Oversee the preparation of timely and accurate financial reports for both internal and external stakeholders, ensuring transparency and integrity in all financial disclosures.
Key Requirements:
Qualifications: Must be a qualified Chartered Accountant (CA/SA).
Experience: At least 8-10 years of financial leadership experience in a commercial environment, preferably within industries involving tenders and large-scale service contracts.
Tender Experience: Demonstrated experience managing the financial aspects of tenders, including cost modeling and pricing strategies.
Debtors & Pricing: Proven expertise in debtor management and implementing pricing strategies that align with market conditions and business goals.
Financial Expertise: Strong knowledge of financial accounting, reporting, and compliance, with experience managing budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
Commercial Acumen: Deep understanding of commercial operations, with the ability to apply financial expertise to drive business growth and profitability.
Leadership Skills: Ability to lead, develop, and inspire a finance team, while collaborating effectively with other departments.
Systems Knowledge: Proficiency with financial software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
