Due to continued growth, IBP Recruitment are seeking a Quantity Surveyor for our clients’ projects based in Northern Ireland. Based in Coalisland, you will report directly to the Commercial Manager and will play a significant role on the measurement and monitoring of project cost control.

The main duties include but are not limited to:

Manage junior Quantity Surveyors as the project evolves in size
Responsible for evaluations of utilities civils contract as principal contractor
Collect and Review worksheets completed by sub-contractors & company employees sent in on weekly basis.
Preparation and submission of weekly progress claims to client. Valuations to be agreed with Client QS representative on a bi-weekly basis.
Support the preparation and submission of project variations, in line with contract timelines.
Review and sign off sub-contractor invoices to be passed to accounts for payment.
Preparation and submission of client Final Accounts.
Daily liaising with on field supervisors and site teams.
Role will involve site visits as and when required.
Assess, review and mitigate commercial and contractual risks.
Provide commercial and contractual expertise to contracts, drafting & issuing correspondence.
Time Management important to the role. Project is of a fast-track nature, with weekly applications submitted to the client.
Meet project deliverables on time and with emphasis on quality.
Attending and providing commercial input to weekly internal meetings, with emphasis on budget monitoring.
Monitor production outputs closely produced by in-house & sub-contractor teams with regular dialogue between the commercial dept and site supervisors.
Gain an understanding & knowledge of the rate build ups so as develop and determine new rates when requested.
The candidate will have a Quantity Surveying related degree or qualification and have NEC3 contract knowledge.
A sound understanding of the different elements involved in the development of a telecoms network would be looked on positively.
Must have excellent communication skills and the ability to manage and negotiate with sub-contractors / suppliers.
Ability to use excel and other MS packages to an intermediate to advanced level
The Ideal candidate must possess the following skills and experience:

Significant relevant experience in a similar role
Qualified Surveyor qualification preferred, however will consider someone with significant relevant experience within the industry
Experience of working with civils / utilities is desirable
Excellent communication skills
Organised, focused and able to meet deadlines
Strong IT skills, specifically including Excel
Full Driving License with access to car
