Relevant qualification in Purchasing or Buying
Must have experience with negotiations and purchasing
3 to 5 years of experience is a requirement
Job Duties
Timely placing orders on suppliers and ensuring stock availability by identifying required dates.
This will necessitate negotiations with suppliers on lead times and requirements prioritisation.
Negotiating prices, procuring goods as close as possible to the standard cost, measuring the PPV, and providing inputs for discussion where volumes ordered might need to be reviewed to achieve costing parameters.
Maintain the Shortage List and pro-actively highlight potential problems to the HOD.
Provide daily updates on shortages and product availability, highlighting potential risks in reports and production
meetings.
Ensure GRVs are processed timely and reviewed for accuracy.
Maintain Open Orders and Overdue Orders.
The Open Orders are to be cascaded into the “cash Flow” report, which is reviewed weekly with Finance.
The accuracy of the delivery dates impacts cash flow planning, and maintenance is critical.
The focus is on highlighting foreign currency requirements and timing.
Manage and maintain the Return-to-Supplier process, liaising with QA, Finance, and other stakeholders.
Negotiate SLAs with suppliers to ensure best-in-class service and pricing.
Coordinate and set up bi-annual Business Reviews with key suppliers.
Continuously explore opportunities to obtain materials and reduce costs and ensure alternate sources of supply are maintained for critical materials.
Process RFQs and review costing and pricing.
A particular focus will be on the introduction of new products and pricing/costing reviews to quote customers.
