Description
Job title: Bookkeeper
Our client is experiencing explosive growth and is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join their team. The role involves managing a portfolio of small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) clients across the UK. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of bookkeeping practices, be proficient with accounting software, and possess a keen eye for detail.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage bookkeeping services for a diverse portfolio of SME clients.
Establish and maintain strong relationships with clients, addressing their financial queries and providing excellent customer service.
Record day-to-day financial transactions and ensure accurate posting in the daybook, suppliers ledger, customer ledger, and general ledger.
Process accounts receivable/payable and handle payroll in a timely manner.
Reconcile bank statements and ensure all accounts are balanced accurately.
Prepare and submit VAT returns in compliance with UK tax regulations.
Assist in the preparation of year-end accounts and generate accurate financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
Stay updated with the latest UK accounting laws and financial regulations.
Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and standards.
Implement and maintain best practices in bookkeeping and financial reporting.
Desired Skills and Experience:
Proven experience as a bookkeeper, ideally with a focus on SME clients.
Proficiency in using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, and Iris.
Strong understanding of UK tax laws and financial regulations.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple clients and prioritize tasks effectively.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Relevant certifications such as AAT, ACCA, or equivalent are desirable.
Salary offered: R15 000-R18 000 CTC per month, depending on experience.
Location: Sandton, Gauteng.
Type: Full time permanent position based in office.
