Or client, Icon Oncology, has an exciting opportunity for an organized team-player, proficient in Sage 300 People, who can run the payroll function across multiple companies (approx. 300 employees, 7 companies), ensuring that pay is processed on time, accurately and in compliance with statutory regulations. This is flexible working opportunity (+/-80% remote) in a pressurized, professional, high-performing HR environment in the medical field that aims to place internal customers at the center of everything we do. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who is organized, deadline driven, with high attention to detail, a customer-service orientation, able to work remotely while being willing to “roll up their sleeves” to integrate and support a bigger HR team. While the focus of this job will be payroll management, the opportunity exists for the incumbent to obtain extensive generalist exposure to other aspects of the HR function.

Duties & Responsibilities
The Payroll Officer will report to the Snr HR Business Partner (Remuneration and Benefits) to process all Payroll & related duties as required for the following:
- Administering, processing, capturing, and checking monthly payrolls
- Integrate with the finance team where required for monthly and ad-hoc reporting purposes
- Liaison with management and staff regarding pay queries
- Payment and reconciliation of overtime, travel, and other allowances
- Leave processing on ESS
- Health & Safety (IOD management)
- Assistance with SARS eFiling, UIF, EMP201 & EMP501 returns
- Maintaining the structure and integrity of the payroll system
- Ensure maintenance of staff records including archiving and filing
- Assistance with general HR administration for the HR team e.g. Health & Safety (IOD reporting), training records, recruitment & selection
- Matric (essential)
- A payroll diploma / degree or certified qualification
- A national diploma in Human Resources Management or in Accounting / Finance or related field, would be advantageous.
- Demonstrated proficiency on Sage 300 People, including ESS, with 5-8 years' experience in payroll administration.
- High attention to detail with excellent numeracy skills (reconciliation and statistics)
- Thorough knowledge of the Basic Conditions of Employment Act, UIF Act and all related SA payroll and Tax regulations
- Advanced Excel skills and proficiency in the MS Office Suite
