My client is a NZ owned business in growth mode in an industry that continues to front of mind for all given the environmental space they play in. The company is circa $120M turnover with 500+ staff. The company has continued to expand and is adding additional heads to the finance team to effectively support the business going forward. Based in Eden Terrace, the head office has a close knit team with an outcome focused culture where hybrid working is offered.

The Role
The role of Shared Services team leader will report directly to the Financial Controller and be responsible for Accounts payable, Accounts receivable and payroll. Your core responsibilities will include:
  • Leadership of the Shared services team of six staff, ensuring staff development and ensuring a positive work culture
  • Work collaboratively with the Group Financial Accountant and Group Financial Controller to ensure the clerical functions feed accurately into the Accounting functions and that all best practices are instilled
  • Be hands on to cover any of the three areas when required. This role is one where you will be 50/50 doing versus managing
  • Drive insights & changes to processes to ensure the business is able to capture the payables/receivables and payroll data accurately and on a timely basis
  • Provide analysis and insights upline for continuous improvement within this area
  • Be the face of the Shared Services team to the business, being present and available to educate, train and assist with systems and processes
  • Ensure technology is optimally utilised to ensure robust financial controls are in place

Your profile:
To be considered for this role we are ideally looking for a candidate who has had hands on experience in all three disciplines of payables, receivables and payroll. Previous staff management experience is required also. You will need to have the following attributes:
