Chief Operating Officer
The UK Infrastructure Bank was launched by the Chancellor of the Exchequer in June 2021 to support and enable private and public investment in infrastructure through the provision of £22 billion in infrastructure finance. With the bank now firmly established, its mandate continues to expand and following the change of government in July 2024, a further £7.3 billion has been committed by HM Treasury.
The Chief Operating Officer is critical to ensuring the long-term success of the bank. They will have overall responsibility for the Operations, IT, PMO, Procurement, and Facilities for the bank and will play a significant leadership role as a member of the Executive Committee, reporting directly to the CEO.

- Bring an innovative, flexible, and entrepreneurial approach.
- Oversee ‘front to back’ operations, systems and processes to support the bank’s key functions.
- Drive a data-driven culture, effectively leveraging the data available to the bank to maximise the value that these insights can provide.
- Ensure the organisation is positioned to handle existing and emerging cyber and information security risks.
- Uphold high standards of integrity to support the Board and Executive Committee colleagues by instilling the appropriate culture, values, and behaviours.
The required experience and personal qualities include:
- A proven track record in wholesale banking and/or the broader financial services industry.
- A strong understanding of banking ‘end to end’ processes.
- Experience interacting at C-Suite level with responsibility for a broad range of areas.
- Being able to navigate complex relationships and build strong, productive, and effective long-term relationships externally and internally to optimise the bank’s effectiveness.
