Due to expansion and recent restructuring of the finance department, we are looking to recruit an Assistant Accountant to join our growing team. A challenging and varied role, you will be part of a team of 5 providing financial information and support across a group of 4 companies, specifically supporting the Management Accountant preparing monthly account for all companies, undertaking work across all areas of the finance department.

Assistant Accountant Specifications:
Candidates must reside or be able to effectively commute to Longcroft, Falkirk
- Experience in a similar role
- Experience using Xero desirable, but not necessary
- Part qualified, HNC, HNC or ATT desirable
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and push continuous improvement
- Confident with good communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent numeracy and administrations skills.
Assistant Accountant Key
responsibilities:
- Assist management accountant in the preparation of monthly accounts for 4 companies
- Daily bank reconciliations
- Posting of receipts, payment and nominal transactions
- Maintain and reconcile hire purchase schedules.
- Maintain and reconcile loan accounts.
- Upload sales to accounting system from our operational software Syrinx and reconcile
- Sales reporting
- Intercompany recharge invoicing
- Assist with accounts payable
- New supplier set up, including verification of bank details
- Employee expenses and credit card postings
- Weekly debtors reporting
- Assist credit control
- Collate monthly payroll information for submission to external payroll providers
- System and process development.
