My client is an energy supplier in Norfolk, and I am seeking an experienced candidate with a strong background in accounting and finance (qualified or part qual ACA/ACCA/CIMA). Experience within Utilities business would be advantageous

You will be required to oversee and manage capital expenditure (CAPEX) and operational expenditure (OPEX) projects. This is a stand-alone finance role which requires the candidate to effectively coordinate and lead financial planning, reporting, and performance management activities.

This role is based in Norfolk and day rate is £300 - £350 - you will be required to be in office 2 days a week - there is also travel to Scotland once a month and travel/accommodation for this will be fully expensed.

This is a 6 month contract to start at some point in September with the possibility of going permanent. Contract likely to end in Feb/March 2025.

Responsibilities:


Provide effective supervision and management of CAPEX self-delivery planning, ensuring seamless coordination between portfolio planning, operations planning, and operational teams.
Utilise company tools and systems - PowerBI and a proficiency in Excel
Deliver monthly reports to the CAPEX Delivery Manager,
Oversee and supervise financial CAPEX/OPEX performance, raising staff engagement and talent development.
A utility background is desirable but not essential.
Develop and manage change management processes for CAPEX self-delivery, working closely with site teams and engineering contractors to develop scopes and designs.
Collaboration and business partnering across various teams and stakeholders to provide comprehensive financial reporting, forecasting, and performance analysis for capital works projects.Qualifications and Experience:

Immediately Available and can pass basic security checks
Relevant accounting qualification (part qual also considered)
Proficiency in using computer-based planning tools, work scheduling systems, and desktop software packages - (PowerBI and Excel)
Finance background is desired and experience within a utility background
Supervision and management of CAPEX projects, ensuring seamless coordination between portfolio planning, operations planning, and operational teams.
Relevant accounting qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA, part qual also considered)
Experience within a utilities business would be advantageous
