The Tax Accountant position will encompass tax duties for a manufacturing company, an investment company and several limited liability companies held by the shareholders. This position is for Swisher's parent company, Island Management LLC. The parent company is an S Corporation, so there is also exposure to individual issues. This is a privately held family company providing a relaxed but professional atmosphere. Individual needs to be a team-player who can also work independently. The position will report to the Tax Manager. Must have State and Local Tax (SALT) filing experience.

Key Responsibilities:
- Preparation of State income & franchise tax returns
- State and Local Tax (SALT) filing
- Preparation of return work-papers, estimated payments, apportionment schedules, local tax returns, miscellaneous returns, and research as needed
- Maintain automated tax calendar
- Assist in preparation of federal return work-papers
- Annual reports and registrations
- Assist in state tax audits
- Assist in tax planning
- BS in Accounting, MS in Taxation, and/or CPA
- 2-4 years' experience in a public or a corporate tax department
- Excellent organizational skills in a hands-on tax department
- Extensive spreadsheet and word processing skills
- Knowledge of tax software programs (CCH Axcess and NetSuite G/L)
- Research capabilities using internet and printed library (currently using CCH and BNA)
- Excellent communication skills
- Willingness to assist in non-tax areas. This is a small office which affords excellent exposure to companywide issues.
