Introduction
Our client, a leader in their field, is looking for a Financial Accountant to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing support with Creditors, Debtors, rent and general administrative duties within the finance department.
Duties & Responsibilities
Responsibilities include:
Preparing reconciliations between cash and card sales and bank receipts
Full responsibility for rental (working closely with the Property team and landlords)
Compiling the turnover rent schedule, submitting the information to the landlords and capturing in the accounting software (IQ)
Accounting for refundable deposits and guarantees
Compiling the rent schedule from rental invoices and importing onto IQ
Performing reconciling checks between the GL and the Property Lease Schedule, flagging differences, as well as performing trend checks on all rent related components
Liaising with landlords to obtain usage breakdowns and analysing utilities
Preparing monthly lease smoothing provision adjustment workbook for review
Pulling credit card purchases of fuel for the fleet and importing it into the IQ cash book, as well as reconciling the fleet GL account to the statement
Capturing invoices and performing reconciliations for all creditors
Credit applications for new creditors
Invoicing and performing reconciliations for all debtors, as wel as sending out monthly statements and following up on payments
Weekly and monthly stock loss reporting
Preparing scorecards for review by Financial Manager
Assisting with year-end financial audits
Any additional projects and support required by the finance department
Desired Experience & Qualification
Requirements:
Degree / Diploma in Accounting or equivalent
2-4 years experience in a Financial Accounting role
Strong Accounting knowledge
Proficient in Microsoft sui
Good Excel skills with the ability to use VLOOKUP's and Pivot Tables
Effective communication (written and verbal) skills in dealing with staff members, suppliers, and landlords
