Estuary Housing Association owns and manages over 4,700 properties across Essex, the three outer East London Boroughs and the Suffolk Coastal District. We now have an opportunity for an experienced, hands-on Rent and Service Charge Manager to join our well-established Finance team and lead the day-to-day operations of our newly created Rent and Service Charge function.
This function forms part of the wider Finance team, and this role will work closely with other Finance managers and budget holders. The role reports into the Head of Commercial Finance and has x2 direct reports.
With the support of this team, the main duties for the role are: -
Coordinate and deliver the Associations annual rent increase process
Calculating, preparing, and setting all Service Charge budgets
Identifying and Setting Rent and Service Charges on newly developed schemes and providing advice on Service Charge issues.
Ensuring that all Rent and Services Charges comply with relevant legal deadlines and contractual agreements
Ensure all Rent Accounts are accurate and up to date
Manage and oversee Section 20 notices, ensuring income recoverability is maximised - Assist with the resolution of Customer queries, complaints, and disputes.
Prepare and deliver Service Charge Statements and Accounts
We are looking for someone who: -
Has a recognised financial qualification (CIMA/ AAT)
Strong Financial and numerical skills
Strong skills in MS Excel and Word
Experience leading and managing a Rent and Service Charge team
An understanding of how Rent Accounts, and Service Charge Statements work
Strong organisational skills
Experience working with Customers
Excellent Communication skills
Knowledge of Procurement and Contract Management
The ability to lead a Section 20 Process
The ability to write Board and Committee Reports Ideally you will have experience working within the Housing, Charity or similar sector, however this is not essential.
No day is ever the same, so this role will have a can do attitude and will thrive on performance and positive results. The officer will be adaptable and willing to learn and share knowledge with a range of partners.
This role offers flexible office working.
