Introduction
Our company is a leading wholesaler of aluminium profiles/systems, glass and accessories to the window, facade and door manufacturing industry.

We are currently recruiting for a Bookkeeper to be based at our Distribution Centre in Wynberg, Sandton, Gauteng.
Duties & Responsibilities
Job Purpose:

The core purpose of the role is to ensure the maintenance and growth of sales for the company, especially within the Aluminium division as well as maintenance of key customer relationships.

Key Performance Areas:

The Bookkeeper reports to the Finance Manager and will be responsible to assist the Finance Manager with the full function accounting duties pertaining to the business - debtors, creditors, petty cash, banking accounts, reconciliations, statutory returns and monthly reporting

Job responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
  • Reconciliation of customer accounts and reporting
  • Attend to the administration and maintenance of customer master-files
  • Capture and reconcile all creditors invoices and accounts
  • Capture and reconcile all petty cash and cash expenditure with the total cash reconciliation
  • Assist with the capturing and allocating of cashbook transactions
  • Assist with the payroll especially with the wage's information and calculations
  • Ensure that month end recons, journals and reports are completed within the business requirements and deadlines
  • Assist with other projects from time to time - provision of bookkeeping/administration support
  • HR admin
Desired Experience & Qualification

  • Must have Grade12, Diploma in accounting NQF level 6.
    • Degree advantageous


Must Have:
  • Grade 12 / NQF 4.
  • Advantageous - Diploma/Degree in Accounting
  • Minimum 5 years experience within an accounting function
  • Experience with Pastel Accounting packages and Payroll Support
  • Experience with data management and use of spreadsheets - e.g. MS Excel and other MS Office applications.


Desired Skills:
  • Computer processing skills, general accounting and bookkeeping training, record keeping practices and training, or related job experience of greater than two years in a similar position.
  • Ability to perform mathematical calculations accurately, including percentages, fractions, decimals, and simple mathematical formulae.
  • Highly motivated with an ability to solve practical problems and follow written, verbal or other instructions with several concrete variables.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to organize complex information neatly and accurately.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills,
  • Ability to compose original correspondence, write reports, have effective interaction with people, and to communicate ideas and receive and process information from others.
  • Self-directed with an ability to learn a systematic approach to accounting and to follow the approach without direction to maintain the integrity of the financial data.
  • Ability to operate computer equipment, business equipment and other general office equipment, including telephones and fax machines.
  • Sound written and verbal communications skills
  • Reliable and flexible individual


Additional requirements:
  • Due to the nature of the position, must be able to work outside the normal working hours.
Package & Remuneration
Between R20 000 - R25 000 per monthdepending on experience
