Our client is seeking a Finance Manager who will oversee all financial operations and ensure compliance with Zambian statutory laws and tax regulations. This role will encompass managing financial planning, budgeting, accounting, reporting, and ensuring adherence to specific legal requirements.

- Develop and implement financial policies and procedures in accordance with Zambian statutory laws and regulations.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, reports, and forecasts to provide insights for strategic decision-making.
- Monitor cash flow, manage accounts receivable and payable, and oversee payroll processing.
- Conduct financial audits and ensure compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and local regulations.
- Ensure compliance with Zambian tax laws.
- Prepare accurate and timely tax returns and submissions to the Zambia Revenue Authority (ZRA).
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of tax legislation changes and implement necessary adjustments to ensure compliance and optimize tax planning strategies.
- Liaise with tax authorities, external auditors, and legal advisors on tax-related matters.
- Oversee the management of the company's fleet of vehicles, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements for transportation of tobacco products.
- Coordinate logistics operations to optimize delivery schedules and minimize transportation costs.
- Negotiate contracts with transportation providers and monitor performance against service level agreements.
- Supervise processing operations to ensure adherence to quality standards, health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and reduce waste.
- Collaborate with production managers to forecast production needs and manage inventory levels effectively.
- Establish internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Conduct regular risk assessments and implement measures to mitigate financial risks.
- Coordinate external audits and ensure audit findings are addressed promptly.
- Lead and mentor a team of finance professionals, fostering a culture of accountability, integrity, and continuous improvement.
- Provide training and development opportunities to enhance team members' skills and capabilities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve organizational goals and objectives.
Skills:
- Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Advanced knowledge of MS Office Suite and financial software applications.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Master's degree or professional certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA) preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in financial management, preferably within the tobacco industry or a regulated sector.
- Thorough understanding of Zambian statutory laws, tax regulations, and compliance requirements specific to the tobacco industry.
- Proficiency in financial reporting and analysis, budgeting, and financial modeling.
- Experience in fleet management, logistics operations, and production oversight is advantageous.
